Todays general tarot reading

9 wands speaks of defense or having to be defensive, since it is wands, it may be emotionally based.
Knave of wands. Also emotions, usually indicates a friend or companion.
5 of swords. Dishonor, conflicts.
Sounds like I may have a fight with a friend today that will be emotionally charged and I will say some things I will regret.

Todays tarot cards

2 of Pentacles: All pentacles deal with prosperity and wealth and are related to the element of Earth. Here, the card is called Thoth's Power with the 2 pentacles (or coins) are between a baboon, the symbol of Thoth, Lord of Wisdom, who holds the Eye of Horus in his hand. It can indicate a problem to deal with, often financial in nature, and often indicates a problem that is already in the process of being solved.

Knight of Swords: Known as the "Messenger of Ruin" (okay, this is turning into a rather dire reading!) and can indicate anger, fiery temperament, someone arguing or fighting with me.

6 of Chalices: The White Crown. The crown of ostrich feathers represents intellectual and spiritual purity. The card can indicate a clarity of vision (perhaps brought about by solving the problem the other 2 cards indicate) and useful second thoughts. Chalices also indicate emotions so this card can represent emotional clarity or vision as well.

Todays cards

Finally figured out how to adjust the image size when I post from my tablet!

This is my busiest time of year for my online stores, so I may not always have the time to write the full reading here - at least I'm keeping up with daily pulling cards and posting them! Small victories :)

Todays tarot reading

The King of Wands usually indicates an older, wiser man. An adviser. It can also indicate a surge of energy that is propelling you forward.

Strength can be physical strength, but more often it indicates strength of will or character.  Strength indicates the importance of mind over matter, and reminds you to focus on what you do want rather than what you don't want in your life. You have the ability to harness your thoughts and to use them for your highest good. Not only do you have the ability; you have the responsibility. So conquer your fears, control your impulses, and never lose patience with yourself or what you are doing.

The 4 of Swords indicates a break from yourself as shown by the swords separating the body at the bottom to the mind represented by the Eye of Horus. It can be a forced break such as an illness, mental or physical, or that you just need to remember to take time for yourself, a break, or vacation.

Daily Tarot: 9 of Pentacles

Pentacles as a general rule speak of prosperity and finances. Nines generally are about repetition and getting back to basics or the source of an issue.

The nine of pentacles in my deck (photo coming later since I forgot to put my phone on the charger last night :( ) includes the Eye of Horus, a very protective symbol, and a cobra that is also protective but can also be deadly. It reminds us to be watchful of finances or that others are watching out for us. Pentacles can be prosperity of all kinds - not just monetary - and in a reading can indicate abundance in all it's forms: money, relationships, etc.  Drawn alone, it usually indicates money rather than other forms though.

Daily Card: 2 of Chalices

Two is all about duality - the good and the bad, the dark and the light. Chalices deal with emotions and the element of air.

So the 2 of Chalices speaks to me about both sides of an issue, or it this case since this is my daily "what should I focus on today" card, that it's going to be a day of both good and bad. A reminder that you cannot have one without the other and to find value in both.

In this particular Egyptian Tarot deck (I use the mini deck for daily readings), the 2 chalices are backed by the headdress of Ra showing that there is power and the Divine always working behind the scenes. The dual snakes and the symbols of life (the Ankh) and Death (the Feather) both speak to the duality of the number two and a reminder for balance. The fact that the one chalice is below Ra (or God) makes it the dark for me and the chalice in front of the headdress speaks to the power of Ra elevating you to the light.
